There Is No Such Thing as a Comprehensive News Source

Do not consider the news media to be comprehensive, they are not. I am not saying they give false information but their reporting is incomplete. News media offer you a tiny sliver, if it is even that, of information compared to what is really going on in your community and our world.

For example, I recently attended a community meeting hosted by Representative Ayanna Pressley from the 7th Congressional District in Suffolk County, Massachusetts.

I do not agree with some of her publicized positions but she has other interesting projects that do not find coverage in the news.

More than what the media says

The media will tell you Representative Pressley is a member of what many call the squad. This is a small cluster of US Congresspersons the reports claim have a radical leftist agenda. That may or may not be true. However, she engages in many actions on behalf of the residents of her district. Her focus is the issues that affect all economic strata in the various sectors of Suffolk County, Massachusetts.

Let me give you an example: Ask anyone if they have ever heard of baby bonds. This is a project she and Senator Cory Booker are working to create. The point is to give a newborn from an underprivileged background a one-thousand-dollar…
